MLGW Power of Giving

The Power of Giving Fund, hosted at the Community Foundation, allows us to raise private donations directly supporting customers in need.

Through this fund, we're able to expand access to utility assistance and home weatherization programs that reduce energy costs and create lasting change. Your support fuels real solutions for those facing hardships and helps families avoid disconnection.

For over 40 years Plus1 has helped MLGW customers facing financial hardship. By adding just $1 more to their bill, customers can support neighbors in need of utility assistance.

What information is needed to apply?

Valid Government Issued Identification (driver's license, passport).
Your ID must match the name on the account.
You must have an active utility account
Most recent cutoff notice
Income information for anyone in your household with income.
This may include your two most recent pay stubs, unemployment award letter, Social Security award letter, child support documents, food stamp award letter, etc.
List of individuals living in the household, including children under 18 and birth certificate or other identification for each person age 17 and under. Valid Government Issued Identification card for everyone over age 18.

MLGW customers can only be approved for assistance one time in a calendar year (Jan. 1 — Dec. 31).
Funds for this program are limited. Eligibility for assistance does not guarantee that funds will be provided.

Applications can only be submitted through MLGW My Account website or mobile app. If you do not have access to either of these, please schedule an appointment at an MLGW Community Office by calling 901-544-6549 or online at mlgw.com/qless.
